QUOTABLES:
"It isn't a play, it isn't a musical, it isn't a rock concert. It's sort of glitter, rock, horror, comedy, transvestite circus, and if you love, say, The Sound of Music, you will probably hate it." - WABC TV

"A sicko-wacko-weirdo rock concert, it ends up being a lot of fun." - NBC TV

"Tacky, tacky, tacky!" - The New York Times

The Rocky Horror Show ...

Actors Cabaret of Eugene is proud to present
THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW
by Richard O'Brien
Directed by Jesse D. Lally
Cast and Crew: See List Below...

The Rocky Horror Show includes all of the songs from the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, such as "The Time Warp," "Sweet Transvestite," "Hot Patootie," "Eddie?s Teddy" and "Rose Tint My World." An additional number performed by Brad titled "Once in Awhile" also appears in the ACE production, although it was deleted from the film version.

The Rocky Horror Show opened in London in 1973 and was named Best Musical by the London Evening Standard. While the play worked its way to New York and Los Angeles, The Rocky Horror Picture Show began filming at England?s Bray Studio in October 1974. The film had a mild release in 1975 and when the movie was put on the midnight circuit, its success and cult audience became undeniable. Within four years, the film that cost $1 million to make had grossed more than $20 million, and could boast audience members who had seen it 50, 100, even 200 times or more. The audience responded to the film by singing along, talking back to the characters, throwing toast during a toast, simulating a rainstorm with pockets of water pistols and a roster of other words and effects. The movie became living theater. The 25th Anniversary Party was held in Las Vegas in October 2000 and a revived stage version, starring the likes of Eric McCormack (Will & Grace), Luke Perry (Beverly Hills 90210), Dick Cavett and Joan Jett, played on Broadway.

THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW tells of Denton's two sweet innocents, Brad (Tyler Holden) and Janet (Laura Holden), and their encounter with alien Transsexuals from the planet Transylvania. Will scientist Frank N. Furter (Adam Goldthwaite) succeed with his plan of "absolute pleasure?" What will become of aliens Riff-Raff (Gerald Walters) and Magenta (Michelle Sellers)? Will Columbia (heidi turnquist) get Eddie (Greg Mathans)? Who will get Brad & Janet? What of Rocky (Mike Stear) and Dr. Scott (Bruce McCarthy)? And where is the Narrator's (Benjamin Newman) neck? This rocking musical explains it all by skewering 50's horror films, the red scare and rock-n-roll.
