Bruce McCarthy...

Bruce McCarthy has been a regular at ACE for years, now. He went to high school in New Jersey and college in Pennsylvania. Back then, "in the olden days," he held leads in Anything Goes, The Fantasticks, Oklahoma, and quite a few other shows. After college he performed roles in New York and Los Angeles and did two winters of dinner theater in Aspen, Colorado.

Then came the kids! Bruce took a hiatus for 23 years while his children were growing up. In 2002, at his daughter's prompting, he auditioned for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum at ACE. He got cast as Marcus Lycus and has been going strong ever since. He takes pride that his parts are so varied and feels lucky to have performed such roles at ACE as the Mayor of Who in Seussical the Musical, Mac in Laramie Project, both Greylag and the Bullfrog in Honk!, Mac Sam in Miss Firecracker Contest, FDR in Annie, the Judge in Sweeney Todd, and the Captain in Mister Roberts to name a few.

His favorite role at ACE, however, is still his portrayal of Georges, the "regular homosexual" in La Cage Aux Folles. Bruce was recently seen as Barrel in Urinetown and then was Dr. Scott in Rocky Horror Show. Recently, he is performed as Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, was in I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, and was cast as Stephen Hopkins in 1776.
